Work Place Burn Out Stop it in Its Tracks and be Seen as an Incredible Leader Part 1

By Gradle Gardner Martin

One effect of burnout is that you begin to loose interest in your job and for most it is a luxury to just give up your job. If you are to remain in your job and lessen the effects of burn out you need to stop your dwindling interest in your work and revamp your awareness of why this is the job for you. As a worker you might want to consider creative but simple ways of rekindling your interest in your work. One such way is to find out all you can about a “Hot” topic in your field.

Subjects could be
changes in legislation
introduction of new working practices
dealing with issues which impact on your customers

Places to obtain information
Many professionals have updated legislation regularly sent to them or posted in specialist places. Also Look in trade magazines and follow a topic where there is plenty of interest or which might impact on your profession
Surf the internet and visit forums for the issues, write the questions and some of the suggestions and talk about it in team meetings

Gather relevant information
See what other teams or companies are doing about the subject and maybe set up a discussion between them and agree how you will work together and share information
Offer relevant information
Write a summary about the key points and send them to your colleagues
Formulate questions that people have about the topic and look for the answers

But most importantly see it as a fun thing to do, do not take it on as another job, and remember you are doing it to rekindle your interest.

Finally you will be surprised what other benefits you get from doing this.
