Appreciate Everything - Stress

Appreciate stress? Yes! Because if you’re feeling overwhelmed you’re doing something wrong. Explore your stressful thoughts and take the first step to deal with those feelings. Let your life be easier no matter how much you have to do or what’s happening in your life.

You notice I didn’t say let your life be stress free or totally easy.

Try this little known or used technique. Let go of your self importance.

It isn’t that each of us isn’t important but that sometimes we feel our importance too much. When we believe we must be, do, or have then we set ourselves up for stress. Do you know that if you were to drop dead this instant, life would go on? It would…perhaps not in the way you prefer, but it is true nonetheless. All that is important to you would continue on without you. It’s true for all of us.

The result of taking this one step and letting go of self-importance is freedom.

From that moment of acceptance, you begin to see your life as the result of the choices you make. Your job, kids, significant other, boss, best friend, even your beloved pet, will all become enriching additions to your life. You choose these people and circumstances because you want them. You aren’t stuck. There is no must.

Everyone who depends on you for something will get their needs met in some way, somewhere, somehow — just not by you. Does that make you sad? Why? Perhaps you need to be needed or want to be needed. You buy into the beliefs of others that you must (fill in this space with whatever they tell you that you must)

In fact, you could choose to be totally irresponsible and there are people who do just that every day.

But your choice isn’t irresponsibility. You know it feels good to be dependable and depended upon. You know the empowering truth that you always have choices and there is little that you must do. Now it’s time to remember what you know when you need to know it most,
